Nothing Like a Win… – PL Update
… To take your mind of things, even for a few hours. A great performance, 4 goals by the mighty whites and for 90 minutes at least football made us happy. Michael Rankine’s double, alongside goals from Jon Brown & Dan Walker meant that Southport’s solitary goal wasn’t enough to drown the spirits of the 1500 in attendance. The club may be in great difficulty but the players really gave us a performance to be proud. Enough jibber-jabber from me, what’s it done to the prediction league?
We had 96 predictions for the game, 83% going for a win, 13% for a draw & just 6% going for an away win. The most popular prediction was a 2-1 Hereford win which was predicted for the 799th time this season by our predictors, unsurprisingly this is our most popular prediction overall too. Sadly for the 32 who went for this score they didn’t get all 5 points on offer. Two did though, congratulations to CROMERBULL & bigfella who both got the 4-1 victory spot on. 78 more predictors went for a win, picking up 3 points before bonus points were awarded. Sadly, only 4 bonus points were awarded, all to those who predicted a 3 goal victory. Congratulations to all our points scorers.
At the top of the league it’s well, little change. All of the top ten went for a HUFC win, without scoring any bonus points so not one position changed up top. Kick in the Bulls now on 99 points still leads with a 6 point gap to Terry Jackins, ahead of ROGER LUNDBERG. St Albans Bull & Barry the Hatchet who complete the top 5. Our biggest mover was bigfella who’s 5 point gain moved him up 16 positions to 55th position.
The monthly table is starting to take shape, 2 games in, 2 to go. CROMERBULL, Organic & Lexan lead the way with 9 points each ahead of 24 predictors by 1 points, 1 predictor is on 7 points for the month, whilst 3 more have picked up 5 points this January. 15 points are still able to be gained with the DOUBLE POINTS round against Kidderminster at the end of the month giving competitors the best chance to climb up our table.
The current end of season booby prize positions are filled by; CROMERBULL (16th spot), thethinbull (35 points) & Big Daddy Splash (the least successful continuous competitor) with 19 games left to go.
The next game is at home again next week against Salisbury, with the Bulls hoping to gain revenge against the other team who call themselves ‘the whites’ and continue a better run of form which has seen us pick up 10 points in the last 5 games, and we’ve now done the double against Southport, can we play them every week? We’ll be taking predictions right up until kick off next Saturday through predictions@hufctrust.co.uk but until then, take a look at the table over on the prediction league page.
The Trust will not have a table at the next game, but our board members and members of the working group will be around should you wish to discuss anything, whilst if you wish to make donations, become a member or purchase our merchandise here on this website and help support HUST.
