A Goalless Draw against Luton & A New Leader
The 12th Round of the Hereford United Supporters Trust’s Prediction League has provided a completely different league table. Only 1 of our 132 competitors kept the same position they started in, unfortunately for Brian McDermott there is no prize for this!
Of our 132 competitors, we had 108 predictors, 1 of them being a first time competitor, welcome to Newent Bull! 33 Predictors went for a HUFC win, 32 went for a LTFC win, the remaining competitors, which made up for 39% of our predictors, correctly guessed that the match result would be a draw.
Although, just 3 of Draw predictors correctly anticipated that today’s match verses the Hatters would be scoreless, therefore Barney Rubble, Hereford Bulls 78 & gaztango all gained the maximum 10 points (as it was our second double points round) for predicting this score-line – well done to all 3 of these lucky predictors.
The remainder of those who predicted a draw went for either a 1-1 or 2-2, irregardless of that this was not the correct scoreline, all 40 of these predictors gained 8 points for their efforts as the all predicted a draw (6pts), and all predicted the correct margin for the result [nil] (2pts).
The remainder of the points scorers who picked up 2 bonus points gained these points for predicting that HUFC would score no goals, 12 competitors achieved this.
So the table which is up on the prediction league page has completely changed, Barney Rubble has taken over the lead from Beanser who had previously led since the Tamworth Home match and spent 8 games in top spot which has been a remarkable achievement, our new leader has a 2 point gap to the competitor he preceded, whilst Kick in the Bulls is also 2 points behind in 3rd spot. Just 10 points cover the top 13 predictors.
In the monthly table congratulations to fsqatech who has claimed the prize for September, this competitor predicted 2 correct score-lines, 3 correct results (1 being in this double point round) & picked up 3 further bonus points on the way to his 25 points form the 6 games this month. The competitor will be contacted regard the monthly prize shortly. The unlucky competitor who just missed out was Barney Rubble but the 22 points gained in the month to put this predictor top will be more than enough satisfaction! Kick in the Bulls, Hereford Bulls 78 & gaztango were joint 3rd place for September just one point further adrift.
Next month will be an interesting one in the HUST Prediction League as along with our end of month Double Points Round away to Salisbury, we will have the 4th Qualifying FA Cup match which (you guessed it) will also be a Double Points Round so that means consecutive Double Points Round – A Double Double Points if you wish!
Keep those predictions coming in now for the next round, which of course is our trip to league leaders Cambridge on Saturday, James is waiting for them!
