A February to Forget – PL Update
Another disappointment left the Edgar Street faithful feeling glum, the fourth straight defeat, and a month whether we went from being with an outside chance of the playoffs, to nervously looking over our shoulders.
The Prediction League had 90 entrants, 54% going for a complete turn around in fortunes, 26% going for a draw, whilst the remaining 20% correctly predicted another loss. A third of the doom merchants also got the score spot on and achieved the highest points accolade available as DOUBLE POINTS gave them 10 to rise up the table with. A reserved congratulations to DORSET BULL, fsqatech, MW, Gulliver, Llubyllub & ladybull. 12 further competitors scored at least 6 points by predicting the loss, with two bonus points each awarded as follows; 39 competitors who predicted 1 HUFC goal, 8 who predicted a loss by 1 goal & 21 who predicted the score – but the wrong way around!
The league table has been reshuffled, but at the top is Kick in the Bulls who remains in his position with a 7 point gap back to DORSET BULL, Barry the Hatchet comes next with 4.5 points to make up to second spot with St Albans Bull 2.5 points behind in fourth. Hereford Bulls 78 completes the top five a point ahead of 3 competitors – Phylo, Terry Jackins & ROGER LUNDBERG who have all joined the 100 club. Graeme159 & PontyBull complete the top 10. The biggest mover was ladybull who’s full 10 points gained her 22 positions in our table.
Unfortunately, our monthly prize must be one of the most bitter pills to swallow for our winner, as they are the best at predicting completely abject results for our team! Arch of Lemner, fsqatech & MW were joint fourth in their quest for the monthly prize with 17 points, ngwilliam came close in 3rd spot with 18 points for the month, whilst DORSET BULL was a solitary point away from the monthly prize winner Nailswortholdbull who picks up the prize for February with 20 points for the month. We will be in contact shortly in regards to your prize.
At the end of February our current booby prize position holders are;
fsqatech – 18th Position
thefatbull – the least successful continuous competitor
No competitor is currently matching the Bulls points total.
The league table is up to date in the usual spot on the prediction league page, so go check it out, and when you’ve finished make sure to have a look around the rest of website, new items are being added frequently so keep checking back.
