Snowdon Conquered!

On Sunday 29th June, Treasurer of the Hereford United Supporters Trust, Jack James, and fellow HUST member Kristina Guntulytė climbed to the highest peak in Wales in aid of the Hereford United Supporters Trust. The pair who were joined by around 50 Wrexham fans, Manager Kevin Wilkin and his Assistant Gary Mills alongside representatives from other clubs around the country including Kidderminster, Wycombe, AFC Hinckley, Grimsby, Chester & Tottenham, walked, climbed and scrambled to the highest peak of Snowdon which is 1085 metres above sea level.

Along the journey, Wrexham fans and Trust Members and Directors gave plenty of advice and sympathy about the situation of Hereford United. With a common theme amongst the Red Dragons calling for Hereford Supporters to fight for their club, dig in and put pressure on those who did not belong. The strength of the Football Family and feelings towards the situation at Hereford was shown not only by the amount of times Jack & Kris explained the situation of the club, but also when the pair were invited to display their ‘We Want Our Club Back’ Banner in the group photo. Shown Below. This was met with a round of applause by those in attendance and also the crowd viewing the group assembled at Snowdon’s Peak. A humbling moment and what an experience.

The pair were amongst the lead groups up and down the mountain, climbing it in 2 hours and 20 minutes via the miners track, which was more difficult than many made out! They took 2 hours to get back down, taking a total journey of 8.7 miles in the process ascending 2477 feet.

They’d also like to thank Wrexham’s Supporters Trust and fan base for inviting them and making them feel so welcome, the other fans who offered sympathy and advice. United in the Community for lending shirts at short notice and Matty Rowe for lending the banner for display at the top of Snowdon.
