Former Players Back at Edgar Street

The Hereford United Supporters Trust are pleased to confirm the Former Players Association is up and running.

Working Group member and club historian Ron Parrott has been charged with organising the Association through HUST, and it is hoped this will foster greater links between ex-players, the club and its supporters.

Gareth Davies, Rob Elmes and Ricky George are already fully paid up members of HUST, but Parrott explains they are expected to be the first of many.

“The former players association will bridge the gaps between United’s past, present and future,” said Parrott.

“We would like people to provide us with contact details for as many former players as possible.

“We will then contact individual players to ask them for other players’ details, and believe that numbers will escalate rapidly.”

The Former Players Association will be led by a nominated chairman, with additional committee members being made up of other former players, trust members and club representatives.

HUST are keen to approach as many former players as is possible, so let us know via email at if you have any information or contact details.

Several events surrounding the return of ex-players to Edgar Street are being planned, including a launch night, special team re-unions and sportstalk evenings.

Former fans favourites are also to be invited to matchdays as special guests, with club chairman David Keyte fully in support of the initiative, which will benefit hospitality and forge closer club ties.
