A Repeat in History – PL Update

Memories of the 20th of May 2006 came flooding back to the fans in attendance last night, a 3-2 victory against Halifax, coming from behind twice to take the victory, sadly there was no Guy Ipoua, Andy Williams or Ryan Green, instead it was Josh O’Keefe (or an OG), Dom Collins & Eric Odhamibo sending the Shaymen back up to Yorkshire with nothing to show for their exploits.

In the prediction league, it was the last league game of the month, meaning it was DOUBLE POINTS, yes exciting stuff indeed. We had 96 predictions for this match, 77% going for a result to make the Bulls faithful happy, 18% feeling that we may have shared the result of that game with Halifax & a 5% of doom merchants, predicting a loss – at least they won’t be too down hearted!

Of the 74 predicting a HUFC win, only 1 brave soul felt that we’d score 3 and concede 2, so well done Singe, you’ve got 10 points for getting that one correct. 73 therefore picked up at least 6 points before the bonuses were award. 6 Entrants felt we’d score 3 times for the second time this season & 45 got the correct margin of victory by the solitary goal. Not one competitors got the score the wrong way around.

The league table always goes ballistic after a DOUBLE POINTS round, and this update is no different, 107 competitors moved position, but not our leader Kick in the Bulls, whose 8 points were enough to increase the gap at the top to 3 points. Behind on 74 points is DORSET BULL & ROGER LUNDBERG, who are just ahead of Ben Smiths Dislocated Shoulder & Terry Jackins by 1 point. Our biggest movers were ladybull, Shaz Wood & llubyllub who all move 19 positions, all in the wrong direction.

With one game left in Movember, we have only 10 points left to grab for our Monthly Prize winner, 18 names are still in the fold to get the prize of best monthly predictor, but the main contender looks to be Ben Smiths Dislocated Shoulder who has amassed 30 points for the month so far, and 4.5 points ahead of nearest challenger The Undertakers with PontyBull (25pts), GemmaLou1511 (24.5pts) & Birdy (24pts) completing the current top 5. But it’s still any of the top 18’s prize to win.

The current end of season Booby Prizes are filled by Pricer 103 (17th), Gazzarinie (25pts) & MPG2000 (the least successful continuous competitor).

The league table is up on the prediction league page, go have a look how you’re getting along.

We’re now taking predictions for the FA Trophy game at Edgar Street against Woking, it’s a cup game, it’s a DOUBLE POINTS round! – Let’s hope for DOUBLE POINTS all the way to Wembley! Get your prediction in for Saturday’s 3pm kick off to predictions@hufctrust.co.uk
