Election Update – Nominations Close Saturday 16th January

The EMG wish to remind HUST members that nominations for the HUST elections close on Saturday 16th January. Completed nomination forms MUST BE RECEIVED by this date. A candidate information pack which includes the nomination form can be downloaded here:

If there are less than eight nominations received by the closing date there will be no requirement for a formal ballot. The EMG therefore once again encourage any HUST member who is interested in helping the Trust ensure “a greater voice for all supporters” to consider standing for election.

We would also like to clarify the process that will take place if more than 8 nominations are received for the 8 available places.

Before a ballot occurs all nominated candidates will be contacted by the EMG and informed of the number of nominated candidates. If any member then wishes to withdraw they will be able to do so before the ballot takes place. The intention of this process is to encourage members to stand in sufficient numbers to fill the available places. The EMG understand that while members may wish to see a functional trust they may not wish to participate in an election if other candidates are willing and available to take positions on the trust board.
