Election Latest
The board of Hereford United Supporters Trust has received confirmation from Supporters Direct that they will provide support and resources to assist with the organisation and management of the forthcoming board election.
Supporters Direct will appoint a representative who will oversee the entire election process as the independent chair of the Election Management Group. The HUST board will be asked to nominate at least two Trust members to assist the chair and complete the EMG, as is required by the Election Policy.
Contact details for the chair will be forthcoming from Supporters Directly shortly, and in the meantime, the Trust board would again ask any member interested in putting themselves forward for the EMG to email chairman@hufctrust.co.uk or vicechair@hufctrust.co.uk.
This election is critical in determining the future of Hereford United Supporters Trust, and the HUST Board recognises the importance of making sure that the process is transparent and fair to all. With this in mind, the board has voted to offer an amnesty on membership renewals up to and including the election date. This will allow anyone who was a member at the date of the postponed election an opportunity to still have their say and elect the candidates they believe can take HUST forward.
The Board acknowledges that communication and organisation have not been to the high standards we all would wish in recent months, but sees the election as an opportunity to introduce fresh blood and improve. Having Hereford FC playing at Edgar Street does not mean that the job is done; there is so much more we can achieve, but only with a strong membership, strong election candidates and ultimately a strong HUST Board.
